‘The project title combines the English word ‘feminist’ with the Urdu/Hindustani word ‘taleem’ to connote feminist educational practices and knowledge that are infused with the spirit of transformation. The title, Feminist Taleem, also pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s pedagogical principles of ‘Nai Talim’ or ‘New Education’ wherein learning is seen as an all-encompassing, lifelong endeavour that is social and holistic in character.
